Changing to fullscreen from windowed in Ubuntu

If you are in a window and switch to fullscreen in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, you can only move your mouse approximately 180 degrees unless the game paused and unpaused.

What I expected to happen was...:
Enter fullscreen mode and be able to completely move my mouse

What actually happened was...:
I can only move my mouse approximately 180 degrees

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have a Minecraft world open, single player or a server as long as it is in windowed mode
2. Enter fullscreen by pressing F11

It isn't that big of a deal, cause you can fix it by pausing and unpausing, but so much of a nuisance that I came on here. See the video for details

It's not a minecraft issue. If your display/window manager doesn't properly select the Minecraft window, it will treat it as a normal window, allowing mouse movements only to the edges of the screen, hence the appearance of limited view range. Once the window is properly selected, the mouse movement is no longer limited.

Is there anything I can do about it?

All I can really recommend is making sure your display manager and graphics drivers are up to date.
