This has happened since I got Minecraft and it's really annoying. A friend told me it's happened since 1.7, and I've played since 1.7.3, Dec 7th of 2013.
It's annoying because I have 1 fps in windowed mode and crashes every 32 seconds in full screen.
I'm not sure if it is my computer or Minecraft.
The 1 fps isn't a bug it's my computer trying to do 20 bagillion things at once.

And if your computer is doing "20 bagillion things at once" then close all programs except Minecraft. If that doesn't help, then my only suggestion is to buy a computer with a better CPU and better RAM.
It's not low memory, every time it crashes it has some silly notification like get Windows 8.1.
I have 300+ fps in fullscreen.
Edit: It doesn't have that many, but I can't close my antivirus because a glitch.
I'll close this window, and 1 fps is loading new, amplified, chunks, and 60ish when idling. I get 300 fps when loading new, amplified chunks in fullscreen.

Might be crashing due to low memory, and I bet you don't have much memory if your computer can only achieve 1 fps, which you shouldn't even be playing Minecraft with that framerate.
