I been playing with the new command /blockdata for lock chests in my multiplayer worlds, but with my friends we notice that no matter if a chest is locked with /blockdata, anyone can break the chest and grab your things.
I really think that this is a bug, because I see it useless at all the fact that you can lock your chests but if anyone breaks the chest, anyone can grab your things anyway.
The bug is in both, creative and survival game modes.
Down here there are a few pictures showing the problem.

Depends on the purpose, if this is done for those maps where the player can't break anything, great, but if this is done for every world in Minecraft (and with "every" I mean a server or common map) I see it pretty useless, the end is protect your things of other players, but they can steal anyway...
I think this works as intended, but it might not.
The thing is that this is a lock to open the chest and not to break it or anything. This is because I think this was actually meant for adventure maps and for example minigames. But it would be a nice feature if they added it in 1.8.1... But then you can use TNT... So it might be hard to solve this problem.
And there are some bukkit plug-ins you can use, but I've heard they won't get updated for 1.8, not sure...
