There was a full chunk just gone when I updated to 1.8.
I downloaded the 1.8 update, and loaded my world. I wanted to find some of the new rabbits so I started walking (running really), I expected to see rabbits soon. I suddenly saw a huge hole in the world. I ran up to it thinking it was a ravine, but I was wrong. An entire chunk was missing, and I could see the void. I guess it's just a chunk rendering problem, but I thought I would let you know 🙂 . I haven't found any others so I don't know if it has happened multiple times or not.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download update
2. Load world
3. walk across plains biome
4. find a huge 16x16 hole in the ground all the way to void.
Don't know if those steps help 🙂

I had a very similar issue. I loaded one of my worlds and no matter how many times I re-open it, there is one chunk that won't load. It goes all the way to the void.

Same here, my chunk is right next to my main building and cutting off my way out (the bridge).
I have also found that if you try to push into / walk over this chunk you take damage quite quick but it bounces you back and will not let you enter.
This is my first time posting here. Not quite sure how to add a screenshot. (okay, found it, it does not add to your post it seems.)
