1.8 Flickering at chunk boundary

Since the 1.8 update I have been encountering a black boundary that resides where the render distance is set. It will occasionally flicker and it is quite annoying to play with as you can imagine. It does not appear to happen on any previous version of the game. I have re installed the game from scratch, updated my graphics, and looked far and wide for a solution but have found none.
I have attached a gif of the flickering and a png of the render distance at 2 chunks. Also I am linking the MP4 of the gif which better shows the issue.

Closing Overwolf fixed the issue. Something in Minecrafts new code would seem to be the issue though as this does not happen in 1.7.10 or anything before it. Not that it is the duty of Mojang to fix it. I had not realized there were duplicate reports, though be assured I did my digging.

Does Overwolf have a bug tracker / support ? Can you open a ticket there ? You may reference to MC-62175
