Elder Guardians Inflict Mining Fatigue When Invisible

In an existing world converted to 1.8, in hardcore mode, I approach an underwater temple. I drink a potion of invisibility and toss away the glass bottle. I have no other gear, and am wearing no armor.

Upon approaching the underwater temple the Elder Guardian still inflicts mining fatigue, but regular guardians still ignore me.

Once each minute, the Elder Guardian will search for players in a 50-block radius who are not afflicted with Mining Fatigue, who are afflicted with a level of fatigue lower than III, or whose affliction will wear off in less than one minute. The players found will be inflicted with Mining Fatigue III for 5 minutes, and a ghostly image of the Elder appears to the player.

But the Wiki also states:
--> Elder Guardians' eyes will still follow a completely unarmored player under the effects of a Potion of Invisibility, but this is entirely visual and they won't attack them.

So I assume that being invisible would allow the character to approach the underwater temple.

Since it is an AOE "attack" requiring no unobstructed line of sight, I'd assume that this is working as intended. If anything, the wiki should state this in a clearer way.

Mining fatigue "damage" does not require "line-of-sight" to occur. This is a bug. Invisibility is just that - invisible. wiki makes that clear. This should be marked unresolved.
