Tree leaves visual glitch

When graphics are set to Fast, tree leaves appear as if they are translucent with sky behind them (see pictures attached). Viewing without UI (F1) and taking a screenshot returns the graphics to normal until loading a new chunk when it starts again. Opening and closing Options repeatedly causes it to break/fix also. This has been happening since the 1.8 pre-releases. Suspect it's my graphics card being poor but posted just incase it isn't and can be fixed.
