[MC-7267] Missing textures for new blocks/items (redstone block, hopper, quartz)

New items in snapshot function but keep showing "missing texture"

I have checked minecraft.jar and the texture files are present...

Assuming your not vanilla texturepack, open the pack your using and delete the files in textures/items and textures/blocks that appear as missing.

Ezekiel - 13w02b is the snapshot I'm running.
Tails - I can't update Java due to limitations of the system not being able to go beyond OS X 10.4.11 - I've been unable to use mods due to this but have been more than happy playing vanilla - is it likely that from now on I won't be able to use all the features on Minecraft?

With Mojang dropping support for Java version 1.5 and PowerPC starting with 1.6 I highly doubt there will be any fixes to the problems you're having. More information here Nevertheless I'm going to reopen this.
