Chunks replacing sections of my Minecraft Home

The Problem:
I began my minecraft world in one location, built a massive castle there, after some time I decided I would change scenery and build a house at the end of a massive rail line.

After I attempted to return home one time, I drowned in a wall. Confused, I noticed that instead of my usual rail network, a giant chunk of randomly generated land was blocking my path.

I found a different way to get to my castle and found other chunks that have been generated even though they should have loaded as I've already dug them out and built a castle around them.

What may have instigated this:
Setting my render distance higher than my rig could handle and travelling toward my castle appears to have caused it.

What would I like done:
To stop this happening in future and provide me with a way to reload old saves in the hope that minecraft stores multiple saves and doesn't constantly write over the one save file constantly, does it?

What are the photos I have linked?:

Some of them are the game in interrupting random chunk mode, others are in the mode where everything made sense, I really would like to return to that world again.

Please force a crash by pressing F3 + C for 10 seconds while in-game and attach the crash report ([minecraft/crash-reports/crash-<DATE>-client.txt|http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/finding-minecraft-data-folder]) here.

Please attach the complete output of the "Game Output (Your Minecraft name) " which can be found on the fourth tab of the launcher.

Done. I think...

I have a feeling the following lines have something to do with it

Was about to write the same.
The world files are broken, but I'm afraid, without knowning how are the steps to reproduce this, this issue won't be addressed.

One question: The world was created in some 1.8 snapshots, wasn't it ?

migrated

I'm not sure what you mean by this, this world was created before 1.7 even.
The screenshots where the chunks interrupt everything are in 1,8
The screenshots where it's not are... 1.7.4? maybe? earlier probably.

Okay I found when the world folder was created.
‎August ‎31, ‎2012. It was up-to-date with the latest mine craft when created

kumasasa

Meant :Did you load the world in some 1.8 snapshots or did you upgrade from 1.7.x to 1.8 ?

migrated

Looked up what a snapshot was.
I upgraded, definitely.
I didn't load a snapshot.

Some other missing chunks

kumasasa

Ok, sorry for asking stupid questions (did ask, because there were some 14w25 snapshots which destroyed world files).
But, as I said, without knowing the cause of the breaking chunks there will not be anything fixed in this issue.

You might do some search in the minecraft forums for "world repair" or "corrupt chunks" or something like this and find http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/support/server-support/1877768-how-to-repair-very-large-broken-world or this http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/minecraft-discussion/discussion/187698-yes-its-another-corrupt-world-help-thread-please

All in all, this is a duplicate of MC-2545

(Edit: Fixed typo)

Is it? I read over that just now, it seems to be a completely separate issue?

kumasasa

According to your "water" screenshots, it is a duplicate of MC-2545 (there was a typo in the first link....)
