I launcher minecraft, Enabled VBOs and it crashed while in-game

When I enable VBOs in Minecraft, It freezes and then crashes

I expected for the option to work and increase my FPS a bit.
The VBOs setting should have increased my FPS
The game froze and then crashed.
The game crashed and a error appeared in the minecraft launcher.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch the game
2. Login to a world or server
3. Enable VBOs
