Large Pits Appearing In Game

Large, open 16x16 block pits with a blue bottom and bedrock visible on the bottom sides have appeared on my offline creative game. They cannot be filled in or built over, and appear in any terrain. Logging off/back in has no effect, unsure of what to try. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've spent weeks on this map.
