This issue should be reopened as skeleton horses are in the game as of 15w38a.

I am seeing this issue as well in survival.

Confirmed for:
15w42a The game just ignores the fact that the player is holding a lead. Right clicking a skeleton horse causes you to ride it, holding shift and right clicking it opens its inventory.

Same as Marcono1234 "15w42a The game just ignores the fact that the player is holding a lead. Right clicking a skeleton horse causes you to ride it, holding shift and right clicking it opens its inventory."
C'mon, 5 skeneton horses spawned next to my base and I can't do anything with them.

Can confirm for 15w44b

This ticket needs to be reopened, Skeleton horses are now officially supported. This is a bug for skeleton horses, I'm unable to use a lead, it opens the inventory is shift+LMB and just LMB.
Makes moving them impossible and keeping them still.

@@unknown: This is according to the Mojang Devs Working as Intended.

I just tried it, it still doesnt work in the newest snapshot.

If they would change the fact that Skeleton horses from the skeleton trap are ridable by the player, I can understand that this "Works as Intended". Unless there is no sign that this gets changed or no tag added like Leashable
preventing the player from using leash on a mob I see no reason for this bug being "working as intended".
Skeleton horses from skeleton traps can be ridden by a player just like normal horses so I would expect the player to interact with them the same way as well.

Confirmed that in 1.9pre4, still unfixed. Just had skeleton horses spawn naturally with lightning, and clicking on it with a lead just mounts instead.

Still not fixed in 1.9.2, please update affected versions.

Confirmed for 1.9.4

The following is based on a decompiled version of Minecraft 1.9 using MCP 9.24 beta.
The reason for this is that the method net.minecraft.entity.passive.EntityHorse.func_184652_a(EntityPlayer)
prevents using lead on skeleton and zombie horses.

Confirmed for Minecraft 1.10 pre-release 1. Still no fix.

This is still an issue in 1.10 full release.

I would like to confirm that this is an issue in the full release for 1.10 as well.

Confirmed in 1.10.2
Even a tamed, saddled, named skeleton horse created through admin commands will not accept a lead.

Bug still applicable in 1.10.2.

This problem has gone on far too long, Yes it's not a game braking bug but it is a known bug and no one is listening to the people reporting the issue. Due to your inability to rectify this problem for your fans I will no longer Twitch stream or promote your products.

Confirmed 1.12. (Not surprising, as it was still in the pres, but good to note)

Confirmed 1.12.1 as well

Did you actually test it in all those versions?

Yes
That's very noble of you haha, but keep in mind we can only add the latest release/snapshot as affected.

In what way? It's already changed to what you wrote in your last comment. And the spawn eggs are irrelevant, a command is easier.

It looks like it is confirmed for Vanilla 1.13.1, I'm getting it in Spigot 1.13.1 but I'd rather not bother testing Vanilla if that's already done.

You can see it in the "affected versions" list.

@unknown There's no need to remove old affected versions if you add a new one.

This is a deliberate design decision. Undead horses are OK with being ridden (with some reluctance), but they don't accept being owned, and definitely won't accept being leashed.

What's the point of having the option to ride them with commands then, if you can't lead them?

Thankfully Henrik, this was fixed.

This report should probably be changed to "Fixed" now
Undead horses are not supported.
