The [type=NameOfMob] (ex. : /execute @e[type=Chicken] ~ ~ ~ say Test)

What I expected to happen was...:
What I expected was that all the chickens will say Test

What actually happened was...:
What actually happened is an error message

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run Minecraft 1.8
2. Run /execute @e[type=Chicken] ~ ~ ~ say Test
3. Run Minecraft 1.8.1
4. Run /execute @e[type=Chicken] ~ ~ ~ say Test

I've tested this and I cannot reproduce your error. Please force a crash by pressing F3 + C for 10 seconds while in-game and attach the crash report ([minecraft|http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/finding-minecraft-data-folder]/crash-reports/crash-<DATE>-client.txt) here.

I suspect you either has a typo (visible or otherwise), else you were connected to a server that runs older versions of the game.
