Hey guys,
Can't seem to figure this one out, or find a solution.
I made a custom resource pack, back in 1.7 I believe, that made bedrock blocks transparent. I did have a specific reason for it being that way too. Worked just fine. Even migrated that world to 1.8 without it causing issue.
But starting a new world, it no longer works. Using the exact same resource pack, when I search for the block in the item menu, it shows transparent. It shows transparent in the tool tray, but when I place it, the block is black.(See attachment) In that screenshot, I have the block in question highlighted in the tool tray so you can see what I mean.
And for some blocks, I had just a portion of it transparent, like a half block, just for aesthetic reasons, but all it does is default the transparent area back to the default texture of that block.
Is transparency no longer allowed? Am I missing something obvious?
Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately, this is WAI due to MC-45199
I was told via Reddit that it was no longer possible in 1.8.3.
Any way we could get that decision reversed? I understand the cheating potential on a server. But I personally use it for aesthetic reasons in my personal solo worlds.
Maybe just make it a server option to allow/disallow?
