Giants only render armor as a wearable item. Player skulls are not shown.

In the recent updates, Giants gained the ability to wear armor, and hold items, but one thing that was not added, is that they can not wear player or mob skulls. Think of the possibilities for custom boss battles. you could have a Eye of Cthulhu boss (terraria reference) with a invisible giant with a player skull of an eye ball on its head.
