Sticky pistons receiving a 1-tick pulse (essentially not retracting the block) causes the enchantment table to no longer register the bookshelves where the block above the piston were even though there is nothing but air between the bookshelves and the enchantment table. (2015-06-12_00.57.02.png, 2015-06-12_00.57.08.png)
Updating the air blocks between the enchantment table and the bookshelves seems to be the only way to "reset" the table, breaking the table and placing it back still causes it to not see the bookshelves. (2015-06-12_00.57.31.png, 2015-06-12_00.57.36.png)

No, nothing is between the table and the bookshelves and yet it only goes up to level 8 enchants.
Maybe this helps?
b = bookshelves, t = enchantment table, a = air, p = piston, B = transparent block (stairs)
a a a a a a B a B a
b s t s b -> b a t a b
B p B p B B p B p B
Tested and it were not the pistons but the stairs. They are blocking the bookshelves (I don't know how but they do the trick).
If the four (4) stairs above the sticky pistons are removed the enchanting table goes to lvl 24 enchantments (for me).
Is this still an issue in the latest snapshot 16w44a? If so please update the affected versions.

Based on the screenshots provided, this is not an issue with the pistons, but rather a duplicate of MC-31121.
Are there any transparent blocks in between the sticky pistons?
