Anvil is missing completely

The anvil is not present, and not craftable. It is not present in creative mode in single player or in server mode. The same applies to a friend using different OS, and with their server set up. The item seems to "not exist".

Are you using the default texture pack? Check to make sure.

Ah, that explains it. Thanks. I think this could be closed now... It's there I just couldn't see it.
