While trying to find the end cities, I noticed they were gone, and just decided to fight the dragon in survival. Meanwhile, I was looking for the dragon. I thought there was none since the boss bar wasn't there.

This is the same for me in 15w32a. I summoned the ender dragon and her custom name and boss bar were not displayed.
