[MC-83735] Game freezes when attempting to "Save and quit to title"

When I attempt to exit a world by clicking "Save and Quit to Title" on the game menu the program freezes on that screen an won't exit. The program seems to need to be restarted in order to switch worlds, as the situation can only be resolved by force quitting.

Is this still an issue in 15w44b? If so, please provide steps to reproduce the issue and, if only specific worlds are affected, attach an affected world.

I've had the same thing for quite some versions now, even in 1.8.x. I don't see the cause, it happens quite randomly for me.

Is this still an issue in the most recent versions (currently that is 1.10.2, or 16w42a) of Minecraft? If so, please update the affected versions and help us keeping this ticket updated from time to time.
