I got killed in the end, but when I returned there were 2 dragons for some reason, I'm guessing this is a glitch in the dragon respawn system?

This happened to me too, except that I killed the first one, it died and spawned an end gateway portal. When I did /kill, I died, came back into the End and there was another dragon which I didn't spawn by using the creeper clay model.
