Arrow triggers Pressure Plate/Button while not on them

Whenever an arrow is shot, and lands on the top third of the block under the wooden pressure plate, or near, but not on, the button, they give off a redstone signal. I uploaded a video to YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPGyXPfhrDs
