Cant Have More Than A Few Players On A Server At Once Or It Crashes

I created a server and had my brother and a friend join back in 15w38a and after all 3 joined the server shut down. Today when I saw the new snapshot I decided to check the server and it crashed when me and my brother joined.
PLEASE HELP! I don't know if this is the server or if its my computer.

Duplicate of MC-12949. According to your report you've only allocated about 256MB of memory to your server, and it's quickly running out. I'd recommend you allocate more to accommodate more players.

For technical support please use the Mojang Support Center.

I solved the problem by disabling nether portals.
