Water does not go on diamond blocks

What I expected to happen was water going on diamond blocks.

What actually happened was water went everywhere except the diamond blocks.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Put diamond blocks
2. Pour water next to them
3. The water doesn't go on the diamond blocks
