Lightning in thunderstorms burning away woodwork

My understanding of "historical" is that, yes, lightning will strike, and yes, it may strike wooden structures catching them on fire, but no, it's raining and will MOST LIKELY put the fire out before much damage is done.

We are having constant issues with wooden fencing containing farm animals blown away, letting our mobs escape, having wooden bridges and wooden roofs burnt away. "A" random wooden block being burnt once in a VERY long while. Having ongoing issues with wooden structures taking significant damage over time from storms sets up "don't build with wood EVER, don't plan on nice looking trees EVER", and so on.

This isn't griefing, as there are only four of us: my wife, her adult son and my adult sister, and we are all being affected by this, and it's ... pretty random, as if lightning is setting things on fire without the rain putting the fire out.

This time I was there while it happened. The last thing lightning did was strike my barn with its huge wooden roof, set it on fire, then went to "clear" weather. I didn't think to turn it back to "rain" quickly enough, and it tore a huge chunk out of my barn.

At this point, I'm kinda getting upset. I've already repaired my wooden barn TODAY. If this were ONCE in a HUGE while, and only a FEW blocks, yeah, yeah, yuck it up.

Putting a target on my wooden barn and burning it twice in a day... that's a bug.

That's always been how the game worked, it just ends when that lightning struk, it's rare/random, that it happens twice in a row is just unlucky.

Ok, thanks. It was just getting to feel personal, like the server had it in for me. 😛 I'll chalk it up to being spoiled by default settings with Spigot, patch up my barn and get the word out to the others not to build top layer (roofs, fences) using wood unless it is stuff they don't care too much about.
