So this is MC-849?
That's not the bug I experienced though it is possible it is related.
I'm not entirely sure what Hikaru Yashima was saying so I don't even know if my bug is the same as this one.
Is this still an issue in the most recent versions (currently that is 1.10.2, or 16w42a) of Minecraft? If so, please update the affected versions and help us keeping this ticket updated from time to time.
I had this happen several times in a few different circumstances. The bug is that certain extended inputs (such as eating or drawing back a bow) are not being correctly cancelled even though you ceased holding down the action button and the game client showed that it was cancelled. This has caused me to sometimes eat food I didn't mean to eat, or shoot arrows I didn't mean to shoot.
I can't find a way to duplicate it as the events that cause it seem sporadic. It usually seems to happen when I open inventory or a chest or other block that has an inventory immediately after cancelling the action, but usually when I do that, the bug does not happen.
