Birch trees are taller than usual

I joined a friend on LAN mode. And all over that world, there was a birch forest. Overall, it was average. Except for one main thing. Plants that matured by seed generation were taller than birches of other seeds. In fact, one tree generated 10 birch logs. I expected for it to have at most 6 logs, but this is just madness. The leaves are normal, however. I need to find more info on the seed, though.
