I can't get the Getting Wood achievement unless I already have the Taking Inventory achievement. Not sure what version this bug started in, but I just noticed it now when I tried the latest snapshot (15w47c). I don't usually check my achievements, but I did now, and noticed this bug. I don't usually check inventory as the first thing I do in the game, but rather start punching a tree to get wood, so I didn't have the Checking Inventory achievement, but I did get the wood, so it would seem that I should receive the Getting Wood achievement. So it seems there is some bug, as the game requires you to check your inventory, before getting wood, otherwise when you get the wood, you get no achievement for it, and as a result, no achievement after the wood can be acquired. This means that when I build a crafting table I don't get the Benchmaking achievement either, as it depends on the Getting Wood achievement.

I've just updated the description of the issue, because the bug wasn't triggered by what I originally thought it was. But it still appears that a bug is present, just that what triggers it is different that what I thought originally.
This is intended, you need to get the 'Taking Inventory' achievement before you can get the 'Getting Wood' achievement. The 'Taking Inventory' achievement is a prerequisite.
I have no issues in getting the achievement regardless of what wood type i use first in any snapshot version so far
