I was survivaling, it was going good and stuff, but when i created a Nether Portal, i went there, it was normal but when i got back, i was in the middle of nowhere, when i went to the nether again, and then went back in the portal to the overworld, i was still in the middle of nowere, i needed to cheat to get back to my home with all my stuff. so i enabled keepInventory. killed myself, disabled keepInventory. i can only get back to the overworld if i cheat. ill put an screenshot there, please fix this that you spawn back at your entrance.
I think you can create this ''bug'' when you place an netherportal in an certain spawnpoint/server spawnpoint
i think this happens all the time. but it is REALLY ANNOYING D:

I had this same problem in Hardcore 1.9. Came back from the Nether at nighttime & nowhere near my protected entrance. Got whacked and lost my world. I spectated to find out how far away I was... it was about 130 (edited) blocks, but not visible to my home.
Windows 7
Seed: 8696724927602563487
Location of Northern edge of Portal (face East or West to enter Portal)
Original Portal at -387 64 -5
Duplicate Portal: -251 87 0
Same happens in Minecraft 1.10.2. New portal spawns nearly at my home (when my original portal is underground). When I break new portal and used my original portal, second new portal spawned nearly at position of first new portal.
On MCPE with same home I was built (it has a portal at -1 floor underground), new Nether portal isn't creates D:
