Happens a lot. Happens to me in creative and survival because I never use the others. When it happens, the game part of Minecraft crashes, and it says "minecraft has run out of memory", then takes me back to the home menu. Sometimes it will only happen once, and sometimes it will happen twice. Today I was playing and it crashed, and I loaded my world, and almost immediately crashed again, and again, about 7 times, then I exited out of minecraft, and didn't have any more problems. Sometimes, it will crash twice or three times, and then minecraft will totally crash, and an error message pops up (included are 4 messages, I assume they are all from the 2 or three times minecraft has crashed like this, but they might not be).

I saw the issue report about something like this earlier, and I think it said to copy and paste something into a notepad document and save it in the .minecraft file, but I tried that and it seemed to make the problem worse. I very well might have done something wrong, or the problems might be totally different, but I did go and take the file I created out. It might not matter though.

How much physical memory does your computer have ?

migrated

As in RAM? 6 Gigs

migrated

or as in hard drive, around 600 gigs

Based on a crash report provided in this issue, I believe with high certainty that this report may be a duplicate of MC-9430. If I am wrong, please go yell at Dinnerbone.

migrated

I couldn't find Dinnerbone, but it isn't a copy. This one only starts after I have been playing a while. After it happens a couple times sometimes it will freeze on start, but usually then either it never stops freezing on start or it crashes minecraft entirely.

kumasasa

The bot is refering to your crash-2013-01-25_18.05.43-server.txt which doesn't belong in this ticket, therefore I didn't resolve this ticket as duplicate.

I haven't seen it yet in 13w09c, granted I haven't played a whole lot. Was it fixed?

kumasasa

Maybe co-fixed by fixing another issue - there were a lot of fixed between 1.4.7 and 13w09c.

Please comment, if the issue reappears and attach a new crash report.

Try out this: http://www.planetminecraft.com/mod/memory-increase-for-minecraft/
It is a kinda mod, for increasing memory of your minecraft.
This may lag your pc more, but it doesnt run out of memory.
PS, check your debug screen and look by the letter "E". If this is a realy high number, this is maybe a point.

I heard this problem from a few people. I dont have this problem myself, only if I use very hard mods or using to many TNT.

migrated

I am having the same problem. how do i fix it?

migrated

this is my most recent crash. the game will run for about 20 mins, if i load in, before lagging until the game comes to a standstill. fps is above 40. i also have tried the placing the text in my .minecraft folder and had similar results. i have also had instances of not being able to climb into minecarts even tho i can still push them around. hope that this is enough info.

migrated

@matthew jarocki: Your client is modded, modded clients are not supported here.

migrated

sorry this is the unmoded client version. still having the same problem though. have tried multiple options and nothing.

migrated

@matthew jarocki: The crash report you provided is duplicate of MC-3766.

Confirmed for 1.5pre. It wasn't bad enough to cause the game to crash, but it did kick me out of my world back to the start screen and said what it did before. I guess it wasn't fixed. But it isn't with the same frequency as before, so maybe it was lessened a little with all the bug fixes.

@ [Mod] tails
Modded only results are not supported but if its not purely modded getting the problem or likely a chance it can happen on vanilla it is supported...Do not rule out modded clients at first look

Had this happen to me earlier today but I assumed it was because I exited my world but left Minecraft running minimized all night. However, I often leave Minecraft running for days without problems so I'll comment.

I was playing 1.5.2 on the new browser and I put my render distance to far and immediately it said, "Minecraft Has Run Out of Memory!" and then it kicked me back to the start screen. Then I tried to get back into the world and Minecraft crashed.

migrated

Again

migrated

This has become a very common thing lately, just as bad as before. It won't even let you reopen the world it booted you out of because it crashes automatically.

migrated

This has become more and more frequent lately even since I put the comment about it being common. It is very irritating.

I'm certain you have noticed this but it appears to be connected with a "native thread".

migrated

Happens almost daily (when I play), and sometimes more.

migrated

I have the same issue and the stupid minecraft people wont help fix it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

migrated

How is this a duplicate? This one was made first. Just resolved because you figured it out on another. Hasn't seemed 2 have been happening lately though. I read the other one and don't really understand it or how it was worked out. Please explain?
PS I really didn't mean to say that in my last post I just was mad and not thinking. Sorry 🙂

kumasasa

All 77 out-of-memory tickets were resolved to MC-12949. The solution to Out Of Memory is simply to increase the memory for Minecraft.

migrated

Ok understood! thanks!

migrated

First the world generation was stuck at 0%. The second time, it just freezes. Third time, it is this. I don't know why.

migrated

For my launcher you have to check a box in order to edit it. This happened to me because I forgot to uncheck the box to stop editing it. I also forgot to click Save Profile before.
