I was put in a fireball dispenser had a shot. But there remains a fireball trail after the end of the launch. This bug was fixed since version 1.8 was not yet up. Please fix this bug.

It was fixed in the 1.9 snapshots. 1.8 is not going to contain fixes in 1.9; you'd have to update (keeping in mind that 1.9 is still in development and snapshots are experimental; make backups).
