Cannot create stone stairs 1.8.9

Invalid

Placed cobblestones in furnace and created 6 Stone blocks. Placed blocks in crafting box and it would not create the stairs with the stone blocks. I created wood stairs instead.

There are no stone stairs, only cobblestone stairs and stone brick stairs

If you want to craft Stone Stairs, use Cobblestone.
