[MC-97015] Ender crystals don't respawn ender dragon or ender crystals on obsidian pillars

Putting four ender crystals in the appropriate locations on the end portal does not respawn the ender dragon, nor does it respawn the crystals on the obsidian towers. The crystals just sit there and do absolutely nothing. I am in normal difficulty and I tried every factor I could to see what was preventing the dragon from respawning. I have seen people make similar issues, but I've only seen it with the clay creeper face from many snapshots ago.

Was this world created in the 1.9 snapshots?

The world overall was made in 1.8, but I deleted the end dimension and made a new one in 1.9. The end is completely 1.9.

Update: respawning works in newly created 1.9 worlds, but not copies of worlds that were made in 1.8 with end dimensions made in 1.9.

My issue got "resolved" but is a bit different.. I tried to delete the DIM1 file to reset the end. No dragon will spawn. My world was created in 1.8. Server currently on 1.9 pre2

Suffering the same problem. We started our world in 1.8.* (possibly 1.8.9) and have updated through each released version since, including the snapshots. We recently tried to respawn the dragon in 1.9.2, but nothing happens.

We started a new world in 1.9.2, went straight to the End, killed the dragon and respawned it fine. Then we killed the dragon off again and copied those working End files over to our existing game and we're back where we started. The crystals go down and nothing happens.

I have experimented with the Dragon Fight tag to no effect. I went as far as to create a new world in 1.9.2, discovered the end, killed the dragon and copied the level.dat over to my original world. Nothing changed.

Just Started having the same issue in 1.10, had no problem in any of the 1.9 versions. I hope it gets fixed soon, so much time killing Ghasts, to open all 20 portals.

@[Mod] redstonehelper. I am having the problem in single player world, as I am not using Realms at this time. I had no problem until the 1.10 Update. Yesterday I even tried /summon Enderdragon, and it would not work either.

I've duplicated it in 1.10. My single player world is from 1.7. In 1.9, was able to respawn the dragon several times. Now, my first time trying in 1.10, I placed the crystals on the 4 sides of the portal, but the dragon won't respawn.

@redstonehelper, I created a separate ticket. It was closed by Bot Arisa, then reopened, then Closed by You. MC-103475. Ended up deleting both worlds that I had an issue in. Playing older versions until it is fixed. Please fix.

That ticket says nothing about /summon. MC-103497 is now marked as fixed, so the next version may fix your issue.

Thank You it is now working in latest version, but it spawned 2 portals, one when the Ender dragon spawned, and one when it was defeated. Bonus!!??

I stil got the same problem in my singlepayer world. If i delete the end folder it will regen?

I have a PS3 & I am trying to respawn the Ender Dragon, but it will not respawn at all (period), I have not changed any of the settings in the menu list or game options, & I also have problems with the Brewing Stand!! & yes I have the new update version of minecraft lol

Travis,

1. This issue is not for the PS3 version.
2. You cannot respawn the dragon yet in the console versions.
3. Any problems you have for the brewing stand is unrelated to this particular issue. Go to the console edition section and open a ticket for that issue in particular.
