Swimming up through water tiles flowing downwards with no blocks aside goes faster than with block on the side

If water is streaming down in mid-air, you can swim up just as fast as if its in sea out of 100% source blocks (which do not stream down). Only if theres blocks aside the water streaming down, it will slow you down.
This doesnt make sense.

Its just minecraft physics... Works on every operating system.
