animals don't naturally spawn in amplified worlds.

When I'm playing survival in 1.9 pre3, in the beginning i have killed out all of the animals in my region where my base it. i am in a plains biome and when i started it had allot of sheep, pigs and chickens. now after i killed them out new ones don't spawn. i have been in that region for over 15 hours an there were no new spawning. according to Gamepedia (Minecraft wiki), animals will not spawn within 24 blocks of a spawn-point (active bed). but even so after 20 blocks nothing still spawns. the other players on the server are having the same issue.

Cannot reproduce. In my testing of 1.9 pre-release 3, passive mobs are spawning, although I think the spawning may be nerfed a bit.

When you were testing what world generation did you use and was it single player or multiplayer.

Mine was a single-player world created in 1.9 pre-release 3, using the normal world generation. I had regular spawning in customized terrain in the snapshots, however. I've not attempted in multiplayer.

I found this issue in multiplayer, amplified generation. Since I did some reading on animal spawning, animals should eventually replenish overtime. In my case they went spawning, its possible that because the world was created in pre2 it may affect but I wouldn't think so.

Animals in your spawn chunks count against the animal mob cap.
