The only problem with that is, this is a brand-new computer. The drivers are as up to date as they should be and I've never experienced a problem with Minecraft on my previous computer (both having Intel i5 processors). There's definitely something wrong with the 1.9 update, that's for sure...

How was this resolved?

Not sure why it's giving an OpenAL error, but the Java (Not JavaScript, as they are completely separate things, despite the similar names) error points to the same problem lots of Intel Graphics users are having, which is caused by outdated drivers.
