Stuck on Accept Quest Screen

After accepting the quest to go into the Deep Dark, the accept quest page did not go away, and my character got stuck. I was unable to do anything, including pressing escape. Pressing space makes the button and happy villager sounds but does not close the window. Game music and sound effects continued as normal.
