MCL will not launch when the .minecraft folder is already existent.

Yesterday I wanted to launch Minecraft Java but it wouldn't launch. I looked up the issue, the only things I have found worked, but like I said, it will not launch when the .minecraft folder exists. I would be able to launch MCL, login, and then run Minecraft. After it launched though, and created the .minecraft folder, MCL would not launch again. I tried to put MCL for the version, but it did not work.

What happens when it exists?

The launcher wont open. I will click the shortcut, nothing happens, I will click the .exe itself, nothing happens, and I have even tried to reinstall the launcher. Something I left out which I now think I should have said is I am using a shortcut of the .minecraft file so I can move it.

In a little bit I can add a recording if necessary.

What happens if you delete the launcher folder inside .minecraft?

Are you using a symbolic link in place of your folder, with the actual .minecraft folder in another position?

I feel the necessity to add that linking the .minecraft folder is nothing new for me. I have had it like that for about a month before it stopped working.

Its a known issue that having a symlink to the .minecraft causes issues. Edit the profile from the launcher instead

I can not even open the launcher.

I understand now. Forgive me for misinterpreting that.

Also Urielsalis nothing changes when I delete the launcher folder in the .minecraft one.
