Openjdk8 is deprecated in Debian 10 and no longer available. So the launcher will not install even though I extracted and installed Oracle Java 8 from a tar from the official Java website.

Same issue with Debian 10.
This is a painful situation, in order to update any packages I need to remove the minecraft package, and that I need to reinstall the minecraft package.
Some redditors found a way to get the Minecraft tar to work on Debian 10. https://www.reddit.com/r/debian/comments/cpyvds/to_anyone_struggling_to_install_minecraft_on/ Install gconf2, openjdk 11, and then extract the tarball. Go inside the extracted folder and open the launcher file. It isn't as convenient as the deb file installing itself and creating a menu item, but it provides a workaround until Microsoft/Minecraft decides to fix this issue with the deb installer.
I can not install the launcher. Dependent packages oracle-java8-installer | openjdk-8-jre, libpango1.0-0. Will it be fixed? This task was created at the end of April and is not solved.Despite the mistakes, the launcher works. I did not immediately understand.
upd. I can't upgrade packages. Apt requires to remove the minecraft package. What should I do?
