Minecraft Launcher won't Open on Void Linux

The Minecraft launcher won't open. I am using the official download from minecraft.net.

All it does is create .minecraft in $HOME, with an empty launcher_log.txt, and with no console output whatsoever. Running it with sudo does not help either.

I am using the version of OpenJDK provided with Void Linux. I have attatched a screenshot of the issue.

When opening, there were no other copies of minecraft-launcher open.

I am able to run a Spigot server on the same computer without any issues whatsoever.

This issue might be because Void Linux uses LibreSSL by default instead of OpenSSL, or it could be because Void Linux uses runit not systemd, those are my best guesses.

EDIT: I install GConf and now it works!

If you check the ~/.minecraft directory, there may be a launcher_log.txt file in it. I'm currently having the same problem on gentoo, and the file said it couldn't find a shared library, so maybe your having a similar problem.

Edit: For me I needed to install gconf, maybe thats what you need too

@Jason: Thank you so so much! launcher_log.txt was empty, but I install GConf, and now it works perfectly!

This was resolved.
Gconf is no longer required in newer versions. MCL-14336
