I tried to install Forge the other day, it wasn't working and I realised I was installing forge for 1.14.4 and not 1.12.2 . So when I went to uninstall forge and tried installing a new version it wasn't working and when i restarted the launcher it turned into an "unnamed installation" which doesn't give me the option to remove, I only have Edit and Duplicate. I have tried going into my .minecraft folder and deleting the version from there and while it isnt in the files there its still showing up on my launcher.

We're actually already tracking this issue in MCL-11440, so I resolved and linked this ticket as a duplicate.
However, that ticket has already been resolved as Fixed. The fix will arrive in the next version or is already included in the latest development version of the game.
If you haven't already, you might like to make use of the search feature in the future to see if the issue has already been reported.
