Since November, I have had this weird and trippy graphic bug where an inch of the surrounding desktop for the main launcher window gets attached to it like a border. It also causes the drop shadow my desktop environment adds to every window to become really thick and dark for just the main launcher window.
Screenshot included as an attachment, there are no errors from minecraft-launcher in a terminal and this error does not extend to Minecraft or any other child windows the launcher uses such as the log output window.
In case you were going to ask me: yes, this also happens in the beta version, I just chose the stable version Because it is what I had installed at the time of this bug report.

Using GTX 1060 3GB and swapped to another Graphicscard. Issue still there. Then I built myself a new system... worked... took GTX 1060 to the new tower.
I noticed that this is thrown in the terminal at start, I don't know if it's related.
ERROR:sandbox_linux.cc(346)] InitializeSandbox() called with multiple threads in

Can be fixed by opening /usr/share/applications/minecraft-launcher.desktop
and replacing
Exec=/opt/minecraft-launcher/minecraft-launcher
withExec=env GTK_CSD=0 /opt/minecraft-launcher/minecraft-launcher
What driver you are using?
