Hello.
There seems to be an issue with the Minecraft Launcher in that I'm not able to name skins or type different version names of the application. I don't even have the ability to search in the launcher. I was previously able to type in names, but now, I can't erase names, undo letters, change names, or even type new names. Every skin that I download now to the game MUST be named "Unnamed Skin", since I'm not able to type any letters, spaces, numbers, symbols, and the like. Nothing happens when I type in the launcher. This happened suddenly and there is no setting to disable typing.
I believe there is a bug in the launcher because I was able to type in names previously, and it now won't let me type anything in the box. This has never happened to me before, and I don't know what happened to the point where I can't name a Minecraft skin anymore. If someone knows what the issue is, PLEASE tell me how to fix it. I would like to get this issue resolved. It seems as if the Minecraft Launcher is blocking me from typing in it.

I also have the same issue, even though this issue is a bit old. It appears to happen when there are any other that can be activated ( doesn't have to be active, just has to be anything that expects text input ). When you try to type in the launcher, the text input activates OTHER textboxes from OTHER applications that are NOT in focus. I've only seen this happen in the minecraft launcher, and prevents me from typing anything when some applications, such as discord, are open.
Logging out and logging back in fixes the issue as there are no longer anything that expects text in the background.
Hi there!
Could you answer few questions regarding this issue, it will help with the investigation:
Does this issue occur on the newest version of Launcher?
What version of MacOS do you use?
Can you record video of the issue?
Have you tried reinstalling Launcher?
Could you provide us with more in-depth repro steps?
This ticket will automatically reopen when you reply.
I may be able to provide more information regarding this bug as the issue still persists but was marked resolved due to awaiting response.
Steps to reproduce:
Open the launcher an run an instance of Minecraft.
Close the launcher with the instance of Minecraft still running.
Reopen the launcher.
No text fields can be typed in.
When you close what ever instances of Minecraft are active, only then do the text inputs work properly again.
For the attached video, I'm using MacOS Ventura 13.0, though the problem does effect older versions of MacOS as well. The current launcher version that the bug still happens in is v.2.3.619-1.1.32. I hope this information helps as I'd like this bug to be resolved!
