Hi!
It looks like this bug was found on Windows as well, and a workaround was found there, but I have found nothing online that has helped me with this crash - which has been affecting my game since approximately a month ago - and the similar crash reports on this site have been ignored or directed to the Windows workaround, which isn't helpful at all. The crash reason thrown is "std::bad_alloc". The corresponding text is bolded.
Any help would be very much appreciated. I've been tracking this issue for a while and have had no success in finding a response.
Thank you. If there's anything I can do to help get this fixed, let me know.

Hey Heim Eric, glad to hear we're in the same boat. Really upset that we've had no help on this case, or even any attention. Any idea how to bring it to light?
kinda hoping that we 'draw' attention by showing that we both have the same issue 🙂
No other ideas...
I'm having a similar issue, just bought Minecraft for my daughter for Christmas. Launcher crashes immediately. Very disappointing because she's really excited about it and wants to play. She's on a Mac OS 10.10.5 (Yosemite.) Have attached crash report
Well with the recent update, my launcher and game are suddenly working again. Thanks for all the help, Mojang 😞. At least it finally got fixed.

Having the same issue as well.
I've also added my crash report as an RTF upload.
I'd appreciate a solution/workaround as well 🙂
