Minecraft Launcher for mac is a blank screen

I downloaded Minecraft like a month ago and it worked just fine, but when I tried to open the Minecraft launcher yesterday, it was just a blank gray screen. No warning message. I tried to reinstall Minecraft, and I tried to remove the launcher folder under ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft to restart the update, but none of them worked. I added a screenshot and the launcher log to the attachments. Please let me know how I can fix it.

Hi,
Do you still have the same issue, I have tried to reproduce this on a mac with macOS 10.15 and java 8 but have not been able.
Is the blank screen shown immediately?
Have you tried to uninstall java and installed ita again?

Hi David,

Thanks for checking. Yes, I still have the same problem.

The black screen does not show immediately. First, the login interface flashes like a second and then it turns into a blank screen. All the buttons are still there, it's just I can't see them.

I've tried to uninstall and reinstall java, but it didn't work.

I managed to play the game anyway by looking at the screenshots from my friend and finding the location of each button. But it would be great if this problem can be solved since it's quite inconvenient to play the game with a blank launcher.

I have the same issue. It worked just fine but now the launcher is blank grey screen that does not respond and I have to force quit it.

Luckily I found a solution. instead of only deleting ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/launcher

I deleted all of ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/

BUT I made sure I took a copy of the saves folder first.

Then I reinstalled the app and launched it. Put the saves folder back and it's now working.
