So I'm unable to log into the website and purchase the java edition of Minecraft, so I'm not entirely sure what to do. My info is all correct for the log in process, but when I click "Log In" it does nothing.

Guess I'm lucky the problem with mine is i cant go in servers because my username wont change
This is a duplicate of 55 (or more by this point) reports. This is also happening with people who have bought the game (Minecraft authentication servers are down).
