Bought the game downloaded launcher but no game

I just bought Minecraft, clicked run and allow on everything like all other games, it downloads the launcher, but then once in the launcher it never installs the actual game. It lets me press play but the "game" just crashes of course.  I go into files and I only have the launcher. I delete launcher and repeat the process, clicking run and allow for everything and still nothing. It claims 1.15.2 is the current version. Help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
