I tried that fix and only one side reappeared back, and it was completely regenerated the chunk and destroying anything that was there before.
I just bought and downloaded the launcher, then it has no option for downloading the game, so I click play and of course it crashes because the game doesn't exist and wont let.
The world was an original Old World type. Where the beds that you see (and 1 chunk farther than the currently visible chunks) is the original size of the world. Now you cannot see beyond it. It was fine until an update and then the outside border disappeared.
It’s been long since it occurred. It happened after an update, I don’t think it happened to a crash. I remember opening the world and the outer edges we gone.
Maps still see the chunks, viewing the chunks with external software see the chunks. I can see the outline of the invisible blocks and I can see entities inside the chunks. I can interact with blocks in these chunks.
I’ve only been able to fix it with converting the world to infinite. I also tried switching it from iOS to Windows 10 but the issue persist. Using a backup with chunks that load and switching the .dat for those chunks did not work either. Just converting to infinite.
Issue is still confirmed for 1.13.1 (Windows 10 Edition), 1.13.3 (iOS), and 1.14 Beta (Windows 10 Edition)
Issue is still confirmed for 1.12.1
Edit: I noticed if you create a map, the chunks are still visible with any modifications as well.
The bug is still confirmed in 1.12.0
I exported the world from my iPhone 7+ to my Windows 10 computer and the bug still persists. Still the only fix is turning the world infinite.
I can confirm this is happening on my iPhone 7 Plus. I just reloaded my world in the new 1.11.0 update and the issue still occurs. The only solution I’ve found is make the world infinite.
Update: Still affected in 1.11.1. Also added before and after screenshots showing the bug being fixed after converting from "old" to "infinite" world types.
This issue is still happening on 19w08b
Can confirm this is still happening on 19w08b

TEMPORARY FIX
I fixed my issue by using the NBT Editor, going to the Entity's exact location, and deleting the entity straight from there. Now my world is working again!
That makes sense, I just assumed it was slime blocks since that was the newest change and wherever the slime blocks were there also happened to be item frames
I tried your method, and after 2 years of this bug, it has finally fixed my issue! Thank you so much, Falcon.
