Whenever I start the launcher, it says: "A new version of the launcher will be automatically installed the next time the launcher starts." and I close and open it and it still won't change. I also can't access the pre releases even when I have installations with Snapshots.

Is that issue still happening? Sometimes it can take a little longer for the update files to be available for download after a new version is published.
