Can you please attach your Launcher log file to this bug? It should be in "%APPDATA%\.minecraft\launcher_log.txt"

This bug has been fixed in the latest Launcher release, version 2.1.10835 on Linux. Thanks for verifying it.

What is the world size?
Is your friend experiencing the same issues when joining the realm?
