The issue has been fixed, mostly. There is still no progress bar and the "failed" can still come up, but if you wait long enough it will work 🙂
I have been using the Minecraft bedrock realms for a while now and have found a feature before working, now broken.
The "Replace World" option while in the "Edit" options area for a realm would normally let you choose a singleplayer world from your worlds list to replace the current realm world. After selecting the world I want to be the replacement world in "screenshot 1" you can see that the "Export in Progress" window shows that 0.00MB out of 0.00MB have been exported even though the progress bar is around 25% done. The export finishes quickly even though the world I am using as the replacement is quite large. Shortly after the exporting is done you can see in "screenshot 2" the "Initializing Upload" phase starts, shortly followed by what happens in "screenshot 3". There is just the "Cancel" button and "Failed" above.
I have tried many things to fix this thinking it was on my behalf, but I now feel that this is a bug introduced in the 1.11 update for Minecraft (bedrock) as this only just started happening after I updated.
The 1.11.1 hotfix did not fix the issue.
Hope this can be resolved 🙂

Hope this gets resolved soon. I cannot upload my singleplayer worlds into my realm... Instead a random world is generated in its place, as if im starting a new world except in a realm.

Hi Levi. Since this is a generic error, it's very hard to tell what is wrong without having access to the world which is causing this problem. Could you please create a support ticket at https://help.mojang.com/customer/portal/emails/new so we can verify ownership and check you realm specifically?

Hi, we tracked down the root cause and just deployed a fix on Realms.
World replace should be back to normal. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Alright, then I'd recommend doing what Alexander Torstling suggested in his last comment. So we can investigate the issue on your realm specifically.

We have the same issue, just bought realms and wanted to upload our world and regardless how many times we restart the upload, it always ends on failed.

I’m having the issue too whenever i try too upload a world with behavior packs applied it says uploading forever its an issue thats been going on for me on xbox one, ios & windows 10 on multiple realms, on different accounts even

Just encountered this issue. Trying to restore from a backup but it just keeps saying failed. I created a ticket, hopefully they respond soon bc all my friends are mad at me now... we can't even join the realm...

I may have used the wrong words, the same pop-up boxes still appear however I have found that now instead of what happens in "screenshot 3" it stays on "Initializing Upload". I believe when this happens it is uploading the selected world in the background, since I have a slow internet nothing happened, but really if I wait long enough it finishes correctly 🙂
